The vehicle and reports

The Autel report identifies a 2016 BMW 330e iPerformance; the AVILOO report describes a BMW 3 Series plug-in hybrid with a 7.6 kWh battery. The recorded mileages are 54,172 km and 54,175 km respectively.

These reports were recorded on the same day, as noted alongside our existing samples. The exact test date, VIN, certificate identifiers and original-report QR codes have been removed from the public copies. This is a report example, not a customer testimonial.

Why are there different SOH percentages?

The headline difference is 2.7 percentage points. The reports use different methods. Autel’s sample states that its data comes from the battery management system or related manufacturer data. AVILOO’s first page gives its independent SOH assessment; its second page separately lists a BMS SOH reading of 95%.

Do not treat the values as interchangeable or average them into a new result. Keep the method, report version and test conditions with each figure. The different charge levels are also recorded conditions; these samples alone do not establish why every reading differs.

Read the rest of the report.

Both samples include cell-voltage and temperature information, alongside their battery findings. In this example, the reports record no battery fault codes or abnormalities. Those findings describe these checks at that time. They do not prove that every part of the car is fault-free.

Range and energy figures shown in a report are method-specific reference values. They are not a road-tested promise of the distance you will achieve.

What this means for a buyer

A battery report adds useful information to vehicle history, a physical inspection and the car’s suitability for your journeys. There is no single SOH percentage that makes every used EV a good purchase. Investigate unusual findings and verify the manufacturer’s warranty terms for that particular car.
