What does State of Health mean?

SOH describes battery condition relative to its original condition, according to the test method. It differs from State of Charge, which describes how full the battery is today. Consider the percentage alongside the report’s other findings, the vehicle’s age and its mileage. Learn how to read a battery State of Health (SOH) result.

What does Autel MX900SOH provide?

The MX900SOH is a diagnostic tablet with EV State of Health software. On supported vehicles, it produces a customer battery health report using data available through the car’s diagnostic systems.

The tablet also checks fault codes in accessible electronic modules. Our included vehicle diagnostic scan is a separate part of the visit. Systems, measurements and functions depend on the exact vehicle and software coverage. Read the Autel Ireland MX900SOH description.

What does AVILOO FLASH add?

AVILOO applies its own analysis to vehicle-provided battery data and produces a separate certificate. Its current certificate documentation describes an SOH calculation using statistical and analytical models, with supported pack, cell, sensor and communication information. The certificate can also benchmark the vehicle against comparable cars.

AVILOO describes FLASH as a stationary test taking approximately three minutes, without a test drive. The whole appointment also includes setup, the agreed checks and an explanation. Original digital certificates can be verified through their QR code; the QR codes are removed from our public anonymised samples.

See AVILOO’s certificate and limitations and its explanation of the FLASH method.

Why can the percentages differ?

The methods and reporting rules differ. Our BMW 330e report example shows Autel at 96% and AVILOO’s independent SOH at 93.3%. Read each result with its method and supporting measurements. Do not average the two figures into a new result.

What does CARA approval cover?

CARA lists AUTEL Blitz and AVILOO FLASH as approved battery health checks. Approval concerns the named battery tests. It does not accredit our business or the separate vehicle diagnostic scan.

Know the limitations before booking.

These checks depend on the data the vehicle makes available. AVILOO states that faults without reported diagnostic data, including some mechanical damage or external influences, fall outside its diagnosis. A report describes findings at the time of testing; it cannot guarantee future battery life, range or warranty acceptance.

Choose the standard package for the Autel report and diagnostic scan. Add AVILOO FLASH if you want a separate assessment and certificate. We confirm compatibility with your exact car, preparation and the total price before booking.
